A Directory That Finally Speaks Our Language

Like millions of people in the Iranian diaspora, our founders grew up searching for trusted Farsi-speaking doctors, restaurants, and services using word of mouth, community Facebook groups, and apps that were never built with us in mind.

Google Maps and Yelp work well for the general public, but they were never designed to understand who is actually serving the Iranian community. Searching “Persian restaurant near me” would return inconsistent, outdated, or simply incomplete results.

So we built Bato — a dedicated local business directory app where every single listing is Iranian or Farsi-speaking, where searching is instant and relevant, and where small business owners in our community can be found by the people who are actively looking for them.

We chose the name Bato because that is exactly what we want the app to do — get you where you need to go. To the right doctor. The right restaurant. The right lawyer. Without the guesswork.

A Problem Worth Solving

After years of relying on Persian Facebook groups and word-of-mouth to find trusted businesses, our founding team set out to build a dedicated, easy-to-use directory for the Iranian and Farsi-speaking community.

Designing for Two Languages, One Community

We built Bato from the ground up to work seamlessly in both English and Farsi, with full right-to-left support — because our community lives in both languages every single day.

Bato Goes Live on Android

Bato launched on the Google Play Store, giving the Iranian community in the US and Canada a free way to search for and list Farsi-speaking businesses for the very first time.

Growing the Directory

Bato passed 300 active Iranian business listings across major cities in the US and Canada — from doctors and lawyers to restaurants and realtors — with new businesses joining every week.
